However, there is a noticeable gap in laity as regards fostering the integration of faith in daily living. This paper aims to assess the role of laity in fostering integration of Christian faith into daily living within the Methodist Church in the Kaaga Synod. The purpose of the study is to suggest measures for addressing the disengagement of the laity’s lives from Christian teachings. However, there is a gap in implementation of church programs. This paper seeks to assess the implementation of church programs for fostering the integration of Christian faith into daily living within the Methodist Church in Kenya, Kaaga Synod. Men, women, and youth fellowships, missions' teams, prayer groups, leadership and mentorship programs, and the children programs lack consistent implementation. If this problem remains unaddressed, it could lead to moral decadence, and render the Church irrelevant in the contemporary society. This study used a descriptive research design, qualitative approach, and proposes a constructivism research philosophy. The researcher establishes their analysis on transformational leadership theory, and leader-member exchange theory. The target population consisted 39,000 church members in205 churches that make up the 27 circuits of Kaaga synod. The sample size was 380 respondents consisting of 339 church members, 32 lay leaders (including men, women, youth and circuit stewards), 8 superintendent ministers/clergy, and 1 synod Bishop. Data was collected using open-ended questionnaires for church members, interviews for lay leaders, focus group discussions for superintendent ministers, and documentary analysis for secondary data. The quality of data was ensured by checking content, construct, criterion, bracketing, and testimonial validities. Ethical clearance was obtained from the Kenya Methodist University, ethics committee and Nacosti. Data was analyzed thematically. Findings showed that Sunday school, youth and adult-member programs were present but lacked proper implementation and consistency necessary for fostering integration of Christian faith. This study recommended the Church leadership to support and oversee progressive implementation of church programs. It is also recommended that the Church leadership trains members on monitoring and evaluation of church structures. Adults were recommended to be role models to the young generation so as to enhance effective implementation of church programsItem Efficiency of Methodist Church of Kenya Pastoral Programs in Addressing Orphans’ Spiritual Needs in Day Secondary Schools in Imenti North sub County(International Journal of Professional Practice, 2022-10) Makathimo, Eunice Karambu; Kinoti, Mary; Njoroge, JohnPastoral care program is used in schools to offer learners spiritual assistance while ensuring their overall well-being is catered for by designated pastors. There are various responsibilities bestowed upon licensed pastors in MCK church fraternity which are derived from the authority given in ordination. The roles of these pastors are categorized into four capacities, namely, word, sacrament, order and service as witnesses, service of Christ's love and justice in mission as pastors, or superintendents. However, the delivery of these roles to orphans in day secondary schools has not been fully realized. Hence, concerns about the pastoral programmers’ effectiveness in the wake of increased suffering and misconduct among orphans has arisen. This study, therefore, aimed at assessing effectiveness of Methodist Church in Kenya sponsorship programs on material and spiritual needs of orphans in day secondary schools in Imenti North Sub-County. The study was guided by Erickson’s Psychosocial Development Theory and Maslow’s Theory of Human Motivation. Mixed research methodology was applied. The target population was 285 respondents from 17 secondary schools sponsored by MCK. A sample size of 207 respondents who comprised of church education committee leaders, superintendent ministers, guidance and counseling teachers, principals, and orphaned students was obtained. Stratified sampling method was utilized in choosing orphan respondents for this study. The study concluded that spiritual nourishment and counseling were the major services offered by MCK pastoral programs .However, the frequency of these services was low leading to high school dropout rates. Therefore, the study recommends increased and regular counseling and spiritual nourishment services.Item Transformational Theology Praxis in the Wesleyan Tradition(Scientific research publishing, 2022-10) Mutwiri, Bishop Nicholas; Kinoti, MaryIn theology, praxis refers to the application of religious doctrines and ethics to daily life. It is, in some ways, applied belief. The premise is that following one’s religious convictions allows one to live a just life. Nowhere is this more exemplified in the Wesleyan framework, which assesses that holiness before God and man is the logical consequence of true theology. Indeed, the asser- tion of the significance of praxis in theological action is a common feature of modern yearnings for a religious renaissance across denominations. There- fore, this article aims to evaluate the transformational theology praxis in the Wesleyan tradition, and the Methodist church in extension. This article uses a qualitative methodology. The article utilizes secondary data from scholarly articles in journals, church history tomes and church records. The data is presented in themes and patterns. The article concludes that in today’s in- caressingly multicultural culture, Wesleyan Theology praxis forms the bedrock and superstructure for creating inclusivity in the ministry of the local church. This article recommends that modern Methodism dedicates itself to the core of transformational Wesleyan praxis, which includes establishing liturgies, structuring worship, expounding the faith, and developing catechisms.
